i finally found a local guy to do my rebuild kit and he quoted me 3900 for kit and install. Thats the sc III with sc converter and everything. And will have it done in 2-3 days. Im just wondering if that is a fair price i believe it is but just wanted to get the opinions from those who have done it before.

price seems pretty close. 2-3 days seems off. a good allison builder will do it in a day. you might want to discuss that with him and see what his labor charge is. if he can do it in a day and is charging labor for 3 days i would go elsewhere.

also, if it is going to take him 3 days to put in a kit he might not have much experience with allisons and im not sure i would trust him with the truck. just my 2 cents.

he said that he has already done 15 of the new gmax kits this year and has been building them since 2003 and it certified by suncoast. i hope he knows whats going on haha

The price is about right.........but Mike L did mine in less than a day. If it's taking 3 days to do it, he must be 1/3 the hourly rate as someone here in CA.

MikeL is in California. That would be a fun road trip.
I'm in New Jersey and I'll be going to Baltimore, MD to Big Dipper's. Look him up on here and he'll fix you up. He did my Transgo Jr. and when I'm done saving he'll be going my Stage III.
He's also MikeL approved lol!

cali is a little too far hah. i might give mike L a call and see if he "approves" of the guy im thinking about letting do my rebuild. i noticed you have autometer gauges.. i just bought a boost, egt, and trans one. how hard were they to install?

Eddysel

They were real easy...I need to get boost and IDK which other to complete the set.

Good luck on the trans..
