I haven't tried it in my Duramax yet but I tried it with my CTD and got about 5-7 degress cooler!

They make a "diesel" version that does not have anti-corrosion or lubricant...just the surface tension modifier. It is recommended for Dexcool systems especially when you still do run antifreeze....diesel or not.

The regular redline has been reported to cause problems with the dexcool OAT additives.

Did not know that. But why do they call it a "diesel" version. All GM trucks run Dexcool. Shouldn't they have called it "Dexcool" version.

Diesel Water Wetter®

Same improvements in cooling efficiency as Water Wetter®, but without the rust and corrosion inhibitors. Designed for heavy-duty diesel engines which use more than 33% antifreeze. Cooling System Heat Transfer Agent for Use with Antifreeze / Water Solutions Improves the ability of coolant to wet heat transfer surfaces by 50%. This provides significantly better coolant contact in the cylinder head and can reduce coolant and cylinder head temperature by as much as 10-20°F. This product will not lower the temperature of the cooling system below the thermostat temperature and will be effective when the thermostat is wide open, such as heavy traffic of climbing long grades. This improvement in wetting helps reduce cavitation in liners and water pump.

Hmmmm, sounds like a good bit of preventive maintenance to me, I run the original in my race car.

I have had Purple ICE in mine since the first time it ran hot , no real difference , but also what would it do if I had not ,no way to tell ?

The non-diesel product is designed to be run with just water. That's why they provide the anti-freeze-additive package without the glycol. Good for racing, not good for cold weather.

Not sure why they chose to call it a "diesel" version. I agree it's misleading.

Briano, so how much stock do you have in DWW? lol

A 10*-20* drop in coolant temps when running hot would definitely expand the "overheating window" for some of these trucks. That is if it really works.

Snake oil anyone? JJ
