Looks like a nice piece....

Question, does the joint still allow movement or is the shaft solid?

OK, I'm lost. What does that thing do? I guess if the idler frame bracket were flexing it would eliminate that, but I don't quite see what it would help beyond that. The joints at the other end of the idler are the ones that go bad first. I've seen some where on the frame piece, but not a lot.

My 2005 at 12k is looser than my 2002 with the support brackets...

Kennedy,

Each time (2 total only 43k on truck) I had to replace my steering components, the idler support bracket was worn out more than the other steering parts. Though I'm no expert, I believe that this will eliminate the flex that the OEM unit did, which I believe assisted in the premature downfall of the other components.

I decided that when I did this last upgrade to my steering components, I wanted to try and take all the weak links out of the equation. I may even add you're brackets to make my steering system almost bulletproof.

At least, that's my theory, anyhow.

Nobody has busted a Fabtech setup yet.
