Here is some important info that Fabtech did not include in the directions or on their web site about the steering kit.

The pitman and idler arms are sealed units. They only take 2-3 pumps (or when it gets hard) of grease. Grease does not fill the boot like the stock arms do.

I found this out the hard way. I thought I had bad arms because I could not get them to fill with grease. I had John at DPS send a new kit out to me to try. It did the same thing. So I called Fabtech to find out the problem. They did not mention it until I asked if the boot filled with grease and they said no its a sealed unit. It would of been nice if they would put this in the instructions. Hopefully this will help others about to install this kit.

What about the part that you have to drill the hole in the crossmember & only a small drill & bit works for it.

Also helps to have a nice, brand new, SHARP drill bit.

That's not what I meant, the front diff. is in the way to use a standard size drill, need a compact one to get it done.

I used a 90 degree attachment on the drill, so that wasnt a problem for me.;)

I realize what you meant. I was just adding that after I drilled for almost 3 minutes and wasn't making much head way, I looked closer at the bit. It was very rounded. New bit took less that 15 seconds to break through.

Good info Big Red Max. I installed the same kit and thought i had bad parts too because of the grease issue. This was about a month ago. At the time, Fabtech was just learning of the problem and didn't have the answers yet. Your post makes me feel better now:D But i have a new problem now... pop, pop, POP! Popping sounds coming from the front suspension when pulling in and out of the driveway. This started after 4hi launches at indy. Squeaking like crazy too. Anybody experience this?

I get the popping sounds sometimes when I turn quick.

Fabtech said the popping is normal as the parts are breaking in. I ve also found that if you losen the stabilizer, so that the bolts are just tight enough not to rattle, it pops less and steers alot smoother.
