I have put a total of 5k miles on the truck. I was towing my boat home from the Colorado river and the truck starts blowing a ton of black smoke.

I am convinced now that the injection system in the duramax is a failure and in need of a recall. Time to start writing letters and making phone calls. My faith is lost in my Duramax. I will always be waiting for the black smoke to start blowing.

You might have blown an intercooler tube. Or clogged airfilter.

Injectors will normally cause rough idle, rattling, and some white smoke at idle sometimes.

Check balance rates with a Predator or Tech II.

How do you only put 5000 miles in 2+ years? Sorry to hear about your problems and hop GF was OK.

I bought the GMPP 3 year/36k mile warranty, when my truck had 42k miles for $1250.00 from the dealer.:ro)

42 K plus 5 K = 47 K, right?

Use your CMPP warranty, right?
