My truck started making a horrible rattleing noise on the passanger side of the motor when I would brake or let off the throttle. I was looking around and found that the bracket broke holding the turbo down pipe that is attached to the adapter on the exhaust manifold. The bracket is actually welded to the adapter so you have to buy the entire adapter and cant get just that bracket so its not cheap.

Has anyone ever heard of this breaking before? My local dealer said that no one has ever came in with that problem before and it was probably due to my over sized exhaust (which I dont believe).
I was thinking of just pulling it off and welding it back together.

Mine was cracked when I took my motor out to rebuild it. That was with the stock exhaust on it:eek:! I just welded the cracks up and added a couple little pieces of metal to gusset it to make it stronger, and put a 5 inch on it now and it has been fine for a year.:)
