Bought my truck three weeks ago. Gave it it's first real test this week end. I towed my 25' Komfort 5th wheel from Cloverdale, CA to Gold Hill, OR and back. The 5th wheel weighs about 7,000 to 7,500 lbs. For those of you not familiar with the route it was 1,013 miles round trip (about 150 local miles with no trailer) up I-5 over the Cascades. It was a good test for the truck and the temps never got above what they normally are without the trailer.:) The ambient air temps were as high as 100 degrees around Redding.

Coming back this morning, climbing the grade from Ashland I really appreciated the power of the DMax. Coming down the grade I really appreciated the Allison. I averaged 12.1 MPG, including the 150 miles without the trailer (hopefully it will come up a little as it gets closer to 10,000 miles which seems to be the norm).

I was a little apprehensive because of some of the previous posts but so far (2,500 total miles) I am happy as a pig in Censored with my truck.

Good luck to everyone else.

Nice report! We pulled our 20' boat to lake last Sat for first time and I didn't even know it was there. We pick up our 5'er tomorrow, a 27' Pilgrim. Looking forward to seeing how it handles it. Sounds like it shouldn't be a problem!

Congrats on the truck!
