Guys When I set my PPE higher then #3 I blow a great deal of black smoke. No I am not talking about a little black smoke I am talking cover two lanes, make the car behind you vanish black smoke. My truck runs great and pulls real hard but it blows so much black smoke when turned up I am scared I am going to get pulled over just driving. If I just merg onto the freeway driving normal I can trail a thick black cloud for a 1/4 mile and that is set on #4.
My idle is smooth as glass, the truck pulls hard up to 75-80 then starts to level out. Off the line she blows smoke and is lazy for 10' or so and then she pulls hard, but she will blow smoke up to say 40mph. On #3 or below I have no issues with black smoke at all.
I understand Black smoke means I am buring to much fuel but what I am wondering is if this could be because I don't have a lift pump? Won't low fuel pressure do the same thing? I have all the PPE fuel rail stuff. What about the PPE boost controler will this fix the problem?
