I twisted off a rear wheel stud on my 2005 2500HD. Does anyone know how difficult it is to replace? I took the wheel and caliper off. It looks like iI will need to take out the axle shaft???? Anyone have any tips???

I did the same thing on the front. IIRC I just pulled the caliper which gave me a small access to the rear of the stud. The studs are pressed in so I took a 3lb hammer and whacked the stud out. To put the new one in I took a couple steel washers and ran the nut in with my impact wrench. I thought the most difficult part was taking the caliper off. GM put some lock-tite on the threads. In short, I don’t know about the rear (yet) but the front was somewhat easy. Don’t think I helped much but I would sure like to hear how you do the rear end.

Yes, you have to pull the axle out.

you should pull the axle and push the old stud out and press a new one in, but the 3lb mallet will work.

When you smack it with the "Single Jack", 3 lb'er, on the broken stud, hold a "Double Jack", 6 lb'er on the back side; don't need to crack the rotor.
