Thanks
Looks like it is leaking from center of pump housing I thought maybe some thing inside is forcing oil out.

check to see that the pump bushing hasent walked out and is touching the seal this is common on 700's unfortunatly trans has to come out to check you should also have the converter pressure tested i have seen them crack around the neck or at least inspect it really careful

The front seal is only there to hold a small amount of fluid, now if the bushing just behind the seal is bad you can change as many seals as you like and it will leak . The bushing is actually what holds the majority of the oil in the pump because on the other side of the bushing is the pressure portion of the pump, so it looks like you will have to replace the bushing and make sure you inspect the hub on the torque converter as it can become worn and cause improper tolerances which can contribute to your leak. Some other simple causes over looked than can cause leaks are flywheel or converter out of balance, and dowel (alignment) pins missing out of the engine block. Hope this is of help in request for an answer.

Sometimes we are quick to jump to conclusions about repairs. Last 700r4 that I fixed looked like a front seal was leaking. Replaced seal, started engine, still leaking, looked a little harder and found a crack at one of the converter mounting tabs.:(

One day I will figure this computer out. Anyways thanks for all the help it ended up being the torque convereter it is leaking at the weld between the neck and the body. This torque convereter is only 1 year old is it worth trying to reweld it.

Most convertors can be professionally welded/repaired. All the H.D. remans I put in are cut apart, repaired and rewelded. Some have new pump drive sleeves welded on, it just depends on their needs. Convertors are one piece that can be rebuilt with success.
