i took the top half of the ats set up and cut the intake part off that feeds to the turbo bc i wanted an intake not the stock filter, then i bent some 3in exhaust pipe for the intake piping and welded a nut with a L fitting for the cdr wroks good! the intake and boost side on the intake were split in half so all i did was cover the intake part to make it look a little cleaner. some pics

dont understand why the airfilter is against the firewall behind the intake where all the hot air is sitting. i bet setting a propane torch in the intake tube is cooler than that.

X2

What on Earth is wrong with the stock intake location? You say you want an intake....they're BOTH intakes, but with the stock air filter you actually got MORE surface area than with the cone-type filter. Keep the stock air cleaner, get some 3" dryer or gutter downspout extension material, and get cold air to the stock air filter from the hole on the passenger side by the radiator. Total cost would be less than your cone filter, and you'd get a performance BOOST instead of the performance LOSS you have with your current setup.

Start calling names and throwing around insults again and I'll be fixing you sir.

Name calling and insulting other members is childish, and will not be tolerated here. We are all adults, and i will not babysit anyone here if they cannot behave.

Halfmax - I need an interpreter to understand anything you write. Do you re-read anything or just fire out a bunch of words that have to do with what you're trying to say and hope that someone can re-arrange them to make a comprehensible sentence.

Take some time and write so that others can understand otherwise these forums are useless

You did a nice job on fabbing up that intake tube, but I have to agree with Trios on this one. I have the same setup as you, and did exactly what was described with dryer extension hose and draw cool air from the hole in the rad support.

I guess you are the one who is looking at the EGT and boost gauges, but I just can't see how it will be an improvement overall.

Keep us posted on egts after some towing and or hot highway driving!
