The little I have learned so far (1 1/2 weeks) as a diesel truck owner, one thing sticks out. Fuel Quality. I understand that the longer fuel remains in the "gas" station's tanks, the more impurities and water that can be transferred to the consumer. So it is best to buy your fuel from a gas station that has a high turnover in diesel fuel sales. Does anybody know of a web site that list fuel sales in any specific area of the country or is there a forum or a thread here where members can recommend high turnover dealers.

I met a guy once who only buys fuel from Flying J when he's on the road. I think he may have another source that he's come to trust when he's at home. Here in Boulder, I get my fuel mostly from the local supplier for heavy equipment, buses, fleets, etc. (It's also the only supplier of biodiesel at the moment). But that's on the other side of town, so sometimes when I'm in a hurry I go to a nearby conoco that is next door to a Uhaul rental outfit. I figure their turnover of diesel fuel is higher than average.
