Does anybody know where I can get a replacement motor for a PPE Lift pump? Mine quit on me this morning. I took it apart and the pump end looks fine, everything spins freely. The motor spins freely but it is a giant pile of rust and is completely dead. It looks to me like water was leaking in from the top motor cover. I started having trouble when it was real cold this winter, Blew a fuse once and then I kept having to bump the switch a few times to start it. I guess it all makes sense since the motor was probably an icicle.

The only places I can think of are PPE, Edelbrock, or Essex. Essex makes those pumps for Edelbrock and PPE.

I sent Dan@PPE a message to see if he can get me fixed up. Checked Edelbrock and all they had was a phone number so I'll have to wait till tomorrow afternoon on them. I'll see what I can find out about Essex.
Does it sound like water was leaking into the top of the motor? If the pump/motor seal was leaking I don't think it would rust up like that and it doesn't feel oily or smell like fuel inside the motor. I had the pump mounted on the truck with the motor on top.

I took the motor apart and cleaned the brushes, commutator, and windings and then.......still nothing.

I hope I can get this pump fixed before the weekend. That is the first pull around here and I can't wait to try out the new turbo and hitch setup. I doubt that I can stay on top of the turbo without a lift pump so I don't even know if I will go without it. I don't really have the money to spend on a new pump right now after this unexpected head gasket repair in my other truck.

I have the same pump and it just quit on me this last week. I have only had it on for 3 months. I should have just spent the extra money and got an airdog or fass setup. Pile of junk!

Mine just gave out about 2 months ago just have not had time to ship it back to get repaired. I have my back up 1792 on now my new style was almost 2 years old did the samething started blowing fuses left and right then just stopped.Other then that not other trouble I think were still having trouble from the ULSF hurting the pumps.

I bought mine used a year ago and it worked fine until it was single digits this winter. I dont' know how old it was when I got it. The pump had a 2007 stamp on it. Looks like water was leaking into the top of the motor and then it ate out the lower bearing. It still spins freely though so I'm not sure why the motor quit.
I'm going to have a bypass on my next pump so I only run the pump when needed, hopefully it will last a while that way. I'm thinking about one of those $60 procomp 140gph pumps on Ebay. I only really need to run the pump during pulls and the occasional ricer smackdown.

Did you look at them to see what the problem was? My friend's has been running one for 2 years so far and I think mine would have been fine if water wasn't getting in the motor. It might be worth trying to seal the top of the motor up a little better.
