Ive been thinking.......still no new tires yet, but I havent driven the truck more than 50 miles in the last 2 weeks..........so dont get mad.

I really dont think I need anything wider than 245's or so (maybe 255's?) but I would like something as tall or taller than a 265-75-16.

Am I getting into oddball sizing, or are these sizes something that I can find just the same?

I read elsewhere that 265's are good for 3 mph over stock at 80 mph, and Im thinking it would be nice to be able to go faster on less RPM on the highway.........

Ill be riding on these new tires until the bitter end, so Ide like to make sure I get the right thing..........

Thanks!

Ribbed "E" rated transport tires are going to have the least rolling resistance. Probably aim at 31" or bigger to keep RPM down.

Like commercial tires? I kinda like that idea, but I do go off road on vacations to UT and CO, so I need an all terrain. But it does have to be E rated......

How many inches tall are 265-75-16's?

Thanks Mcrat

Stock 245/75's are 30.48", 265/75's are 31.65", and 285/75's are 32.82". You'll drop about 150 rpm's at 70 mph with the 265's and the same going to the 285's.

Oops! Corrected the 265/75 numbers.

I think you meant 265/75's are 31.65"........:)

I had new tires put on today.........

I took it in in the AM, and they put on Dayton AT 265's. I came home, and noticed that it drove kinda funny........They put D load range tires on there.......grrr......

So i called them back, and they put Remington AT's on there for me.......

I didnt get a chance to look into that tire......any good?

They are E's, but they feel a little more fishtaily than the outgoing tires.......

265's look huge.........
