Tried to find existing threads on this...
Yesterday, I started the Burb and the annoying warning buzzer/beep did not stop after the usual interval. Anyone else have this happen?
Checked everything - doors shut, seatbelts buckled.
My SO refuses to drive the truck with the noise. Can't really blame her.

That has happened occasionally to me, but it always stopped. I would get rid of the door chime anyway. Thats what I did. Its up under the steering wheel and you can use an ice pick to kill the speaker.

My truck does this every now and then. The way to make it stop is to open the door, then turn off the truck and take the key out. It should stop and then close the door and start the truck as normal.

Thanks - my ignition also has a little grid close to it that suggests that there is a speaker near it. However, on the '95 at least, the buzzer speaker is in the 'convenience center' which is a cigarette box sized black box plugged into an approx 4"x4" grey fuse/plug thingie on the firewall by the parking brake pedal.
I pulled the box, cut apart the plastic and pulled the membrane off the speaker. Noise problem fixed.

Looks like I have another problem since the interior lights don't shut off.
Well, at least the 1995 wiring diagram is available http://www.pdfee.com/search/1995+chevrolet+suburban+wiring

on my truck this happens once in a while, [interior lights and chime stay on] my ignition switch is so worn that I can pull the key out anytime running. I put a little key lubricant on the end of the key and cycled the ignition a few times , problem solved. I have to do this about every 2 months. Time to change the ignition someday. Charlie

door switch maybe the issue,
Thought that as well. My first scan of the door did not find one. Will have to look again during the daytime.

I know my 08 does not have a door pin sw. So the contact has to be tru the locking mechanism somehow. In times past the pin sw sometimes could be fixed with a lil squirt of wd 40 / and old tv tuner contact cleaner, worked like a charm.
But alas that will not work now, do not even know if you could even find the contact cleaner.
