I have a 1997 3500 pickup turbo diesel with a check engine light on. I took it to AutoZone and they decoded it which gave a P0236 code. It read "turbo sensor". Not sure what is the problem, the turbo or the sensor. Truck seems to run ok, drove it over 300 miles sence it came on. I do notice that when I try to hold the truck around 50mph and let off the gas a little, it kinda hesitates but does not happen too often. Any ideas? Thanks.

That code means boost isn't within range, most likely the vacuum controlled waste gate system is not fully functional.

Start by checking vac at idle at the turbo~15" Hg and the solenoid ~25" Hg.

Might also need to swap ECMs depending on what pump your 94 has.

Some have been able squirt WD-40 in the Watsegate solenoid and bandaid them along for a while.

They are about IIRC $30.00 at a dealer and if you have replaced the vacuum lines I'd do that too. ;)
