Chicago TDP 07-02-2005, 06:37 PM Anyone else notice how undersized the outer main bolts are in the 1998 6.5 block? The outer bolts are small, small to where there could be a possibility to have enough matterial in the block to do the splayed caps. I am going to sit down and draw up a set of splayed caps and try to cut some at work, that a lot-o-machining though. I will try, gotta try it. MDT 07-03-2005, 08:42 PM Those bolts are smaller for a reason, if you open them up you will tap into the oil channel feeding the piston spray cooling, very bad. BTW, piston oil spray channels are the reason those blocks crack I'd get an older block for rebuilding. joispoi 07-04-2005, 05:39 AM MDT, did you bump your optic sensor before or after getting the reflash? I put mine back after getting my reflash and it runs better...although now I'm back to harder starts:( | ||
