I was checking the pressure today in my tires, read on the door pillar they are supposed to be 55psi and 80psi for the front and rear respectively. I thought 80psi was high. What does everyone else run?

I run 80psi front and rear, all year long. I tow heavy.

Towing = 55F / 80R
Empty = 50F / 65R

The high pressure is needed for the tire to be able to handle its max loads. Running with them empty fully pressurized give a less than desireable ride.

If you don't tow very often and keep the tires fully inflated you might start to notice that the centers will wear quickly. I usually deflate my rears to about 5 pounds less than the fronts....since I have a short bed with no weight on the rears. You could just drop them 5 lbs at a time and see how it works out. Then inflate when you need to tow heavy.
