Im wanting to step down in wheels size and its about tire time. I dont want to buy new tires for my 20s, which are for sale or trade, if im going to get something smaller. i do want 37s so does anyone know if they will fit because i have the stock PYo

Yes they will fit but I personally would not run that big/wide of a tire on the stock rim. Just buy some after market cheap 16x10" rims and be done with it

Wow... That would be insane. Anything over 245's are too wide for the PYO's, so a 37 would be crazy, not to mention dangerous. Why not get H2 rims for like $250 and run 37's on those?

I just killed a set of BFG's in 26,000 miles on the stock 16"x6.5" wheels.
265 75r16's
Wore down to wear bars along the center of the tire running at 55psi. Tires rotated every 6000 miles.
Just picked up a set of H2 chrome takeoffs for $300. 17"x8.5" and I'll run 265/70r17's. Discount said the tires I'm looking at in 17" are actually $5 per tire less than the 16"'s I just killed.

If there is a tire you already have in mind, you can go to the tire mfr's website and look for "Specs" on the tire. The specs with give a range of wheel width that will work for the tire you are looking at.

The height of the tire has nothing to do with it, the width does and basically what your saying is running a 15.50in wide tire on a 10in rim is insane, crazy, and dangerous too?

why would it be dangerous? i think im not going to do it, but calling it dangerous seems odd

all tires have a minimum rim width sizing that should not be exceed. It it is, the tire can come off the rim or collapse under braking, or have a blowout. I would imagine this is what was being implied by dangerous.

Being the PYO is 6.5 inches wide, I doubt the 37X12.50X16 will have a min rim measure less than 8-9inch.

just do it.

i had a set of 37x13r17 boggers on a set of factory rims on one of my previous trucks(04 cummins) w/ no problem at all. The did look like small balloons but no probs. I put prolly 5000 miles on them before i sold the truck

i also did multiple burnouts w/ them, and the truck had no abs so the rear locked up under hard braking, and also did multiple jumps(4' at most. not the best idea. which bent front axle housing. not good.) with them.

i'm not saying it was the best idea, but they never caused me any problems.

A few years back Tire rack would not even sell me a 265x75 16 tire for my stock rims 16x6.5 because of the liability, They said it was too DANGEROUS.

The width is what I am talking about as there aren't any 37's that are narrow enough to work well on a 6.5 inch rim. Considering the fact that 265/75s are considered too wide for the rim, do you you really think that a 37, which is atleast 6 inches wider than the rim would be safe or a good choice. You could do anything you want I guess, but you are gonna have a hard time finding a reputable shop to mount the tire on the rim. Most 37's are super wide anyway. Don't get me wrong, I like the look of tires that are a little wider than the rims, but not 50%+ larger.

In the end, the OP can do whatever he wants, I was just stating my opinion and what I have seen with tires and rims. I didn't mean to offend anyone because I didn't say what was wanting to be heard.

It works fine and many guys do it. I run 285's on PYO's and I had some 305's on PYO's for a while. When I go solid and get 315's I'll probably do the same cause I like PYO's ;).

I have never seen 37s on a PYO. I did see 315's once.
