Lastnight i was doing some runs with my truck and it would be fine all the way up to the 4th to 5th shift, it wouldnt do it until i lifted. this was with the juice on 4. last time i had this problem it was a fuel filter so i went and changed it...wasnt it still does it. i took the air filter off and it was clean(stock). i went to the dealer to run codes and it came up with just egr for the exhaust. What next? i also noticed a gerky shifts between 3 to4.-:t

Well hello transmission thread, what are you doing in the lly section? We better move you before someone gets the wrong idea. We could just be mean and delete you but since we don't know the answer offhand we'll let mike and the trans crew look you over and see what they say.

Well, could be... I just saw shifting problem and was on a thread moving rampage and moved it. We'll give a couple days and if nobody answers it here I'll move it back there ok?
Did you try without the juice on? On a different tank of fuel yet?

I would think if you changed the filter then it shouldn't be a fuel problem. Have you been changing levels a lot? Maybe it's stuck learning?

The LLY has a 2.5PSI lift pump in the fuel tank. It cannot keep up with fuel demand at high RPM & loads with a controler upgrade. This causes the engine to run out of fuel at high RPM & loads. If you run out of just before a shift point the RPM will not increse & the trans ECM will not shift. You'll have to put 10+ PSI lift pump to get over this fuel porblem.

When did GM start putting fuel pumps in the Duramax tank?

Hate to tell you this but NO LLY or LB7 have a 2.5 psi lift pump in the tank! On dual tank models only there is a frame mounted transfer pump that is about 2.5 psi but that only transfers the fuel from the rear tank to the main tank.

it seem i found the problem??? I ran two tanks of fuel through it and it seems to be better. Could it have been a bad tank of fuel?

Interesting. Evidently it was so crappy it was still starving for fuel then? Wierd. Not unheard of though.
