: Driver positions not holding

Hi,
New here, and this is my first post. Just bought an '04 Silverado crew cab Diesel. It has the power seats, mirrors, ect. that are suppose to stay set for 2 different drivers.

Mine will stay set for a while, then goes nuts. Seems all the settings stay except the seat positioning...it slides all the way forward.

Anyone know what is going on here? I can reprogram it, and it will stay for a while, then back to sliding all the way forward again. It happens with both the key unlock from the remote and the driver select button on the door.

Thanks....Alaskan

I have a 2004 and it does similar things. Sometimes when I get into my truck after the wife drives it and I push the 1 button, the seat pretty much splats me into the dash. Sucks when your 6'3" and just north of 240. I do believe that there is or may be a recall on it.

Thanks for the reply JRKRACE. Is there somewhere online that I can check on the recalls??? Hopefully they figured it out and can fix it.

Anyone else have this same issue??

Mine has done the same thing on numerous occasions. The only difference is it won't go nuts, but it will think my setting (1) is actually 2. So both settings and both keys will then recall the #2 seat position.

<A href="http://service.gm.com/servlets/BlobShtml?ShtmlFile=1651758&psdid=437&evc=sm#ss1-1651758">Condition

Some customers may comment that with repeated cycling of the memory seat between the 'exit' and one of the 'presets', the position of the seat may "creep" forward or rearward out of expected adjustment.
<A href="http://service.gm.com/servlets/BlobShtml?ShtmlFile=1651758&psdid=437&evc=sm#ss2-1651758">Cause

There is a coding deficiency in the software for the memory seat module.
<A href="http://service.gm.com/servlets/BlobShtml?ShtmlFile=1651758&psdid=437&evc=sm#ss3-1651758">Correction

Technicians are to reprogram the driver seat module with an updated software calibration. The new service calibration was released with TIS satellite data update version 4.5 available April 18, 2005. As always make sure your Tech 2® is updated with the latest software version.
Important: After programming is complete, move the seat all the way rearward and down, then bump the seat slightly forward and up. This position will be just off the end of travel hard stops. Reset both memory seat exit positions at this position. Having the seat set at just off the hard stops will aid in reducing the creep condition.

While you guys are doing so well on memory seats, I have a 2005 Silverado 2055HD with memory seats and camper mirrors. The mirror position does not appear to be in memory. I understand the regular power mirror setting is supposed to be memorized, but the situation with camper mirrors is unclear. Who has the definitive answer (not my dealers service department - and since the sales guys are all sold out, they're doing a research project).

I bought a Sierra LT CC with a bench seat... I need 6 seat belts... Does this delete the memory mirrors as well as seat stuff?
