I noticed that my damn turn signal/running light assembly on the driver's side was falling out. I looked at it and it appears that the part that the signal latches to on the inside broke off. The outside part that pops into place is still there, it's all that was holding it in. Is this a common thing, because my 2000 did something similar. Is it a warranty thing or will I just have to make something to hold my turn signal in? It looks like the part to hold it in is pretty weak, less than an inch of thin plastic. I'll look at the other side tomorrow to see just what I am missing.
I am pretty sure it hasn't hit anything except birds..
Any ideas on why/what to do?
Thanks

Well I drilled a little hole in the part on the signal assembly and wired it in.. Maybe I'll get in next week and ask if it is something they will warranty. If not I'll just put more wire on it.

In case someone finds this searching, it was the plastic part that holds the lights. $20 part, easy to install.

Well I was looking at things and noticed I had never posted what happened. I hate finding a post where there was a question with no answer so I thought I better answer it in case someone needed help with that.
To visualize it, just remove the headlight and look at the plastic part the turn signal clips into. On the side closest to the center of the truck it broke where it holds the turn signal in... It's just a small section of plastic, but you have to replace the entire big piece to fix it. Luckily it was cheap.
DavesDmax-I have other things than farm shows.. But I will probably go to the one in CO in a few weeks... :D

Now, you got my curiosity up. Do you think this could be due to flexing the grill assy when putting on the winter cover?
How about cold weather cycling?
Now I will have to go out and look at mine.. Darn you. ):h

The grille wouldn't hit it, only the light hits it.
Mine most likely broke from breaking a 30000 pound strap, when it recoiled it hit my bumper and dented it. Truck was so muddy when I first posted that I hadn't noticed the dent in the bumper. I only noticed it after I washed it and fixed it, a few days later. So evidently this one was my fault...
I think it does happen sometimes because like I said my 2000 got loose there, and I have seen a few other trucks around town where the turn signals are falling out of them... If you look at that plastic part you can see that it wouldn't take much to make them fall out.
