i have my truck at the dealer. and they phoned me that either pitman arm or idler arm (i think it was pitman)is loose. i bought torsion keys and jacked up 2 inches 50 thou km ago. i now have 100 km. so i looked up cognito brace kit. says to use with factory pitman arm and idler arm. its 231 on there site. where is the best place to buy? and is this the best solution? thanks

it also stated that it will not work with beefed up idler or pitman arm kits (aftermarket)

Cognito steering braces are a great upgrade and can be used with OE idler and pitmans or after market units such as Moog or Spicer. Here are some pics of what they look like installed:

We offer these at a great price lower than you would pay directly from Cognito. Here is a link to our site > 8-Lug 01-up ** Steering Braces ** Pitman/Idler Arm (http://www.norcaltruck.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=2_385&products_id=242)

You will be happy with this product. Also it sounds like you may be in Canada? We ship to Canada so if you order on line in the comments state to please ship USPS and the rate will be better than UPS or feel free to call us to place your order.

Just signed on today, I will check and send it back.

As for the Moog arms, really any of the arms that are a better brand name will work fine and as long as they are the correct replacement they will work correct, careful you don't get a 1500 Idler as we have seen a few guys have this happen before. It will install on a 2500 but it is not the right angle/arm.

The key for a longer pitman and idler life is adding the Cognito braces so you are looking the right direction.
