Head over to chevytruckworld.com and do a search for Westers Custom Tune. He will take your PCM and reprogramm is for what you want. From what I have read, it is worth the money. It is a little bit more than a hand held programmer but worth it.

Allen Nelson is supposed to be an awesome turner also!

Both of those are excellent reccomendations...If you are interested in a hand-held unit check out Superchips...will mak e a noticeable difference over stock...not quite as much as a custom tune...but still an improvement..plus you get a DTC reader and clearer.

Also look into PCM's For Less(.com). I used them on my 2004 and it made quite a difference. No problems whatsoever in 5000 miles. Also a good outfit to deal with with quick turnarounds.

I got a custom Dyno tune from PCMFORLESS for my 02 6.0L since I am pretty close to Bryan in PA. I ended up getting 28.74 rwhp and 18 ft/lbs of torque out of a 93 octane tune. I do get 1mpg better, which covers the additional cost of the gas if you work out the cost per mile. My shifting is amazing now too. It's set up to progressively shift, so if your not on your gas that much, you won't snap your neck. But when you floor it, WOW! I've chirped second a couple of times with my automatic. Bryan said that the 4l80e is a very strong tranny and can take it. I still do lack a bit in the low end, but it's much faster than before. I think it's just too heavy of a truck to get it up and going quickly.
I don't think you can go wrong with Westers, Nelsons, or PCMFORLESS.
Here's my dyno sheet. Don't pay attention to the numbers on the graph, he had to move the line to see the peaks better. The true numbers are at the bottom.

power can easily be made on the 6.0, but good luck getting better mileage.

My 03 2500HD had Hypertech, Gibson headers, throttle body, flowmaster exhaust, K&N filter....

never got more than 10pmg city AND highway, BUT it would flat out haul butt!!

good luck!

I had a Sierra C3 with the Hypertech programmer (93 octane setting), Gibson sport exhaust and Airaid intake. The truck weighed in at 5400 lbs with me in it. It ran a best of 15.37. This, however, doesn't compare to the C3 I've got now.
