I've only owned the truck for 2,500 miles so far but I have one small complaint. Maybe 2. (Truck has 63K on it) When I come to a complete stop sometimes and go to take off it'll seem like it starts in 2nd gear and then 1 second later goes into 1st and takes off. I did a google search and on GM trucks forum a bunch of people have had this happen with no ill effect. Many of them with 10-15K on it and some with 150K+. Some of them said to have the dealer reflash the ecm. Thoughts? Also when going into 4th lockup from 3rd it seems that it unlocks really quick in between causing a 2-300 rpm increase then going into 4th. Thoughts? Temp is always around the 145 mark when hot. (From my other post about the CAI intake and hauling a 12K+ load the temp just got a hair above the half mark so no heat issues.

Ya they do that. Mine does that same thing. Only difference is that mine does not like to lockup in 3rd, and then when it hits OD it locks up immediately and I nearly a 500 rpm swing. I have high mileage and tow heavy sometimes. The programming really sucks in these trucks, both the engine and tranny. Under load with stock tuning mine tends to hunt between OD and 3rd. I would look at getting the programming changed, thats what I'm looking at.

When I had Zippy tune mine for the Supercharger I asked him to keep it locked longer, the tune from Magnusson was very touchy and any movement of the gas pedal would unlock the converter, now I have to want it to unlock, it doesn't hunt, I have to goose it a little to unlock it, then when unlocked I can keep adding pedal and it'll keep down shifting, then won't lock again till I'm settled in 4th. he did exactly the way I asked him to, and I only sent him the pcm, my a/f ratio is perfect at every throttle position ( I have the gauge to check it)

Mine started off doing that and slowly kept getting worse and started doing it everytime it shifted and sometimes it shifted so hard it felt like I got rear ended. The dealership said the torque converter delaminated or something and filled up the lines and valvebody with the crap and said i needed a new tranny. It had something like 42k miles on it and was just a few months outside of the warranty and they said they would only cover half the cost which was better then nothing. I dont know if what they was true or not cause Im having problems where its trying to start in 2nd again. im getting ready to go pick it up after work so i will see what they say

Quick qestion, it this the standard automatic transmission for the 6.0? I know squat about gassers, I recently bought an 06 cc/sb 1/2 gmc with the 6.0 Max engine. I don't have a clue what transmission is in it.
