So I get my truck back from getting all eight injectors replaced. The Service manager asked me If I had a power adder. I had to leave the thermocoulple in, so I put in some dummy gauges instead of the Banks, which only work with Banks 6 gun.

Well I get my truck back today and find a blob of something on the edge of my harness, so they will be able to tell if I added a harness box or not.

Basically I am trying to figure out what exactly it is so I can get some and replace it if I ever need to. I plan on putting my harness box back on.

It is firm but rubbery, and it is grayish in color.

Probably some kind of silicone gasket maker. The stuff we use is called Hondabond, sold at Honda dealers, looks just like that!

I wouldn't worry about it just clean it off good and play dumb if they ask. And after how they treated you, I wouldn't go back to the same Stealer.

I never took my probe out either... I just shoved the leads behind the AC condenser and when they asked me about it i just told them that i was planning on getting some guages someday. What is it to them anyway? How many injectors have been replaced on trucks that havent had ANY mods done to them? I would reinstall your gun and carry on!

I'd just put an ECM in it.

I'd take it back to the dealer and ask them what that is on your truck. And when they can't give you a good answer, tell them you want it removed, NOW!! It's your truck, not a rental.

Thank goodness they weren't worried about fuel contamination and put a tack weld on the gas cap door.

Clean the entire engine.... then tell them you entered into a show and shine!

file a complaint with the mgr. and tell them that It is ilegal to do any thing to your truck with out notifing you. tell them to remove that sh@t immedatly, and report them to GM. for poor service. and do not return there are plenty of STEALERSHIPS out there look for one that is diesel frendly

Is this something they can attach to my vin report? I was wondering if I went to another dealer if they are going to know about the blob too. Or is it something just for that dealer.

again, walk int the STEALER and demand to know who put silicone or whatever that sh@t is on your $45,000.00 vehical, and ask if they thought you had a harness problem why wernt you notified, demand a appology, and get mgrs. name and file a complaint. also tell them if you did have a harnass problem, you hope they would replace it not put a band aid on it.

:exactly: :exactly: Most importantly--it is YOUR truck. You don't need to ask permission to remove $hit off your harness.

I would take it off let it ride and the next time the truck has to go in clean the engine compartment up real good with degreasers and spray the crap out of it with wd 40 or armor all to make it all shinney if they then ask say guess it came off when washing the motor.

If you do take it in again and they ask what happened to the tabs that were on your connectors. Ask them why they put that stuff on there.
By them putting this stuff on there since it is not an emission item they are trying to basicly put a speed trap out there like the cops used to do.

You don't need an excuse! If the truck ever needs to go it, and they ask about the junk. Just tell them it is none of their busness, because, after all it is your truck.

I take nothing off my truck and never did, except for a box or programmer.........

My dealer asked once and then never ever been questioned about a thing after that..............my dealer does not seem to care..........they even went as far as to warranty my BLOCK HEATER with the $100 deductible waived............:D

Call the SERVICE MANAGER back and say the TECH goober-ed up my engine and YOU are not happy. Slam them on the survey, tell GM you brought it in for service and the TECH did sloppy work...........

Never go back................and as far as having gauges, I have three, Boost, EGT and Aux Tranny temp. The first time I was asked my answer was............GM felt the need to put a tachometer, oil pressure, water temp, volt meter and tranny temp in gauge from the factory.............I tow a large trailer in hilly areas........I want to monitor my EGT's and Boost so that I can keep an eye on things............I didn't know monitoring two more engine parameters was in any way going to effect warranty coverage...........I don't think GM or you could make a case based on a monitoring device.

As far as my exhaust, well I backed into a low stump, bent my tailpipe.....the cost was so much that an aftermarket exhaust was much cheaper...........so I replaced it.

The AFE intake..........didn't know that swapping to a more effecient air filter was a problem either............

After that little conversation I never got a second question asked........

Walk in the back with Chemrex Urethane water activated adhesive in a large tube with a Co2 pusher gun.

30 seconds and you would be done!

Then mist with water to accelerate the cure.

15 minutes later..... NO ACCESS!
