Chevrolet Announces Pricing For 2011 Silverado HD
2010-04-09

DETROIT – Chevrolet today announced pricing for the 2011 Silverado HD, highlighted by carryover pricing on the improved Duramax diesel engine and Allison transmission. This means best-in-class horsepower and torque at 397 HP and 765 lb-ft of torque, respectively, for the same option price as 2010 models.

“Heavy duty pickup customers are some of the most knowledgeable out there, and we heard them loud and clear. They want maximum power and capability at the best value possible,” said Product Director Maria Rohrer. “We delivered huge increases in power and capability while actually improving our fuel economy with the Duramax diesel engine – all while maintaining current pricing.”

Silverado HD base pricing starts at $27,965, which excludes a $995 destination charge. An upgrade to the proven Duramax diesel engine and Allison transmission combination runs $8,395 – the same amount as in 2010, despite the significant improvements in fuel economy – including a highway cruising range of up to 680 miles; aforementioned increases in performance; and new B20 biodiesel capability.

The 2011 Silverado HD also offers the latest technology in driver confidence and control features such as trailer sway control, smart exhaust braking, hill start assist and more. An all-new chassis, featuring a fully-boxed, high-strength steel frame combines with the aforementioned engine improvements to increase trailering capacity to 20,000 pounds (9,072 kg), and payload capacity to 6,335 pounds (2,873 kg).

The Silverado HD will be offered in work truck, LT and LTZ trim levels, and will begin production in May. Delivery to dealers is expected in early June. All models come with a segment-best five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

Maybe the Dmax option is the same, option for option, sticker for sticker, the 2011 will be more $.

I am shopping right now and the guy I have been working with is telling me it will be +/- $8,000 difference when you factor in all of the rebates & such.

That's because the guy you were talking to, wants you to buy a truck from him NOW. He doesn't want you to wait 4 months or so til the new trucks show up on lots. While I agree the new trucks won't see big rebates initially, I doubt it'll amount to $8 grand

Everybody said the 07.5's would be $7000 more than the classic body style and they ended up being almost the same price too.

I have a dealer telling me 4k more MSRP to MSRP. I told him if thats the case I will buy another brand. I hope GM is not that stupid. I love what I am reading and will own another, if the price is right.

They cannot effectively raise the prices that much; the market will not bear it. Competitors eager to gain market share would respond with lower prices and the used market would receive greater buyer interest in response to a such a dim witted move. Predatory pricing just does not work out so well economically, and these ol' boys have been in business long enough to have figured this out years ago. The passenger truck market does not enjoy the same exclusivity and demand requirements that is present in the OTR product lines, thus no massive increase in the cost of the diesel option.

All said and done, a bombed out Denali will be early mid 60's which is ~4-5k more than the top of the line GMC 2500 Crew today...which I am driving. Dmax will be marginally more for the new emissions crap, then the 20" rims, etc. etc. will bump up the price.

Anyone who thinks that 2010 will be the same price as a 2011 is nuts. Read all you want whereever you want, prices change during the year as they add this feature and delete that feature, nevermind for a new model with more HP, More torque, new chasis, fancy rims, and an uplevel Denali trim.
