I have a new 05 LLY that has a 3" body lift on it and 305 tires. Will the body lift limit or alter the amount of weight I can tow with a gooseneck hitch? Anybody doing this now or similar? Thanks in advance, G

depends on your hitch. we need more info, manufacturer, type (rails above bed, hidden ball, etc) ti give more info. if you use the B&W turnover ball hitch, your only problem would be the additional height of the bed and the htich would sit below the bed, but not diminish your towing capacity just look funny.

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't bought the hitch yet so I guess I should have clarified that better. I would like to go the turnover route so I can use my bed. Does the turnover hitch connect to the bed or the frame?

ALL GS and FW hitches MUST connect to the FRAME.... The difference lies with surface mounting hardware that are either on top of the bed (hardware from the frame goes through the bed to the rails, etc.) or below the bed, such as "Hidden-Hitch" or Turnover-Ball, etc.

Anything bolted directly to the bed's thin skin would not take much weight before it would distort and rip right out.

i would still go for the turnover ball, but not sure how it would look. i know you can get a 2" extended ball for it that would even things out for you. you have to cut a 4inch whole in your bed for the B&W as everything connects to the frame, and the hitch sits flush with the bed when stock height and looks good. i personally dont like the GN balls with above bed rails, but maybe worht it for you as it may be tough to find a kit that would work with the bed height difference. good luck

B&W hitch for our trucks are pretty easy to install, great kit

may have to go with plate hitch with body lift. I'd be wary of that route as there will be 3" longer spacers and bolts to attach plate to frame. I've used plate for years but W/O body lift. With BW or other hitch may have to cut rather large hole in bed for coupler to turn properly. Another option is a fold down hitch, these use a custom mount to frame and a good welding shop could do this in no time, but have to cut 8x11 hole in bed
