I'm going to do a complete tranny service very soon. The filter number I can't seem to find is the internal filter that belongs on my truck. The numbers for the spin on were super easy to find, but the internal one is giving me some problems. Also, how do I know if my truck has a deep pan or is stock. It looks stock to me. Did certain Allisons come from the factory with deep pans? BTW, I have an 06 GMC LBZ and six speed auto. Thanks in advance guys!

All GM pickups come with the short pan, so unless someone changed it that's what you have.
#29537965 is the short filter and it's black in color. The deep pan filter is white in color.

There's new part numbers available soon for six-speeds and deep pans:
These filters have more capacity and lower restriction than the former ones.
Note: 2001-2005 5 Speeds still must use the 29537965 for shallow pans.
2006-later can use 29542833 for the shallow pans (black in color)
All with Deep pans can use 29542824 (white in color)

Allison states to not change internal filter unless overhaul.

I don't think the deep pan filter P/N 29542824 will work with the SunCoast filter lock P/N A1-FLT-LOC-D.
