All I can say is WOW.... Like a new truck. Turbo spools up almost instantly. So far no SES light!

Looked in the outlet of the kitty, and saw this:

Doesn't look too good, especially conidering that is the OUTLET. -:t

No codes from the new downpipe. Damn I can't wait to get mine in. Is your exhaust a lot louder now? Lower EGT's?

Not sure if the exahust is louder, but the turbo is more audible (best part!). No codes yet... Tomorrow evening, I'm leaving tor Philly (PA) with my 45' 5er for a whirlwind trip by way of I-70, and stopping in WV on the way back to see BigBlockBill. I have a NE/Kali truck (bought it when I lived in NY), so we'll see what happens to towing EGT's and codes.

Cougar281,

Great enjoy it. By the way you might remove that info about your dealer, on the Ford sites Ford has "lurkers" that use that info against the dealers!

Cougar, do you have an LB7 or LLY? If its an LB7 you will never get an SES light (unless its a CA emissions) but the LLY will eventually give you one. There are a select few that have not gotten one though.

As far as the loudness on the LLY, the increase in sound is only "beefy" sounding..its not the same as putting a muffler on a gasser and its loud as hell.. LOL.. the LLY's are very tollerable with free flowing exhaust. The LB7 is a different story.

LLY. What I've heard is that changing JUST the cat usually won't trip a SES, as long as the factory muffler is still there.

I've had mine on for 2000 miles now, and no codes. I think the only time it trips is when you do the pipe AND the muffler....

That lovely looking crap is platinum, they even had it as the cat on my Aprilia, I think shops collect it then sell it for scrap.

I have my turndown pipe back on order as well. UPS says it will be here friday. Just curious- how hard is it to install the MBRP's. I have done some exhaust on my old bronco years ago- but this is alot more money I am playing with now. I just want to be sure I don't Censored anything up. Thanks and I hope I don't trip the codes either...

Thinking of adding this exhaust to my 2005 LLY....and I have no idea what the SES is? I am adding the exhaust the front pipe, aka replacing the cat with straight pipe and then adding a tip.:help:

SES = Service Engine Soon light in the dash cluster.

Without a litte back pressure in the exhaust the EGR system may throw a code and cause a SES. Finger's stick can be added to trick the ecm into thinking everything is normal with the egr and not cause any codes or SES light. At that point you can block the EGR as well.

so what if you only do the cat back system? Will that trigger the codes?

tonyls hd,

Cat back has never tripped an SES light to date, lots of guys are doing the whole system and not getting lights. Then the next one does, it's like Vegas, expect to lose and if you don't get a light you be da lucky one!

Call us if you have any questions we have been dealing with the SES LLY stuff since day one, we'll be glad to help you with any questions etc.
