Had to take the truck in for rust bubbles around the third brake light.Truck is a 03 cc dw with 23800 miles.Dealer is going to paint roof.

Yes it does suck to pay this much for a vehicle and have somthing go wrong just like this. But it is not the end of the world.
These trucks are built by people and machines that are controled by people. There are going to be mistakes down the line.
The best thing that is happening is that the dealer is taking care of you.
For the most part I feel that the painting process has come a long way since the 80's. Better material and preperations have come about.

IIRC, the cab roof is the only part of the truck body that isn't made with zinc treated steel, ie corrosion-resistant.

other than rain drops how often is the roof exposed to salt, rocks, shopping carts. There are almost and infinite supply of stuff that can cause the side panels of any vehicle to rust, and the roof is probably one of the least exposed surfaces on the vehicle.

The sun will eventually delam the paint and clear, but that takes quite some time.

Picked the truck up today.Needless to say they did a **** job.Theres metal specs all over the roof from grinding around the truck.Theres a spot of rust around the light in the other corner.You would think that when they removed the light they would see it.They just did a little spot repair an buffed it.I could see the spot with the light installed.******ing clowns.Now I'll be out of the truck for another week and the same moron will probably work on it again.

I know around here you can take your truck where you want to for body repair under warranty and the manufacturer will pay for it. I've done work for all the big three in the past plus Honda. Three of the four dealerships had their own body shops. I wouldn't take it back to them at any cost.
