i am going to get some new tires and i have decided to get 315's. can i get 315/80/16 or 315/75/16 or are they too big and i have to get 315/70/16?

i have green keys in the front and my t bars are cranked a little. the back has a 2 in spring lift. also i have a ranch had front end replacment.

my wheels are laso a concern. i have no idea which ones i have. they were to fit my 285/75/16's so will 315's fit?

sorry to be a pita but i dont wan to drop 800 dollars on new tires and get ones that dont fit.

I have only heard of a 315/75/16.

They make a 315/70/17 but I assume you are using factory rims.

I have seen a few guys put 315/75/16 on factory rims with green keys.

I just got 305/70/16 MT's put on my factory rims today. No pics yet.

I just noticed that you're using aftermarket rims and have a ranch hand. You should have less rub problems with the ranch hand installed compared to the factory bumper.

I don't think you're gonna fit 315's (35") on aftermarket rims without a suspension lift.

You should clear 315's on factory rims no problem since you have a ranch hand but you may rub at full lock on the frame or a-arms.

With aftermarket rims and green keys, you can only handle 285's or 305's.

The 285s will work on stock wheels, a lot of guys here are running them. The 315s are way too big for the stock pizza cutter wheels. You can fit them with aftermarket wheels though. check your pms for more info...

I have 315-75-16s on 16x10 wheels. Your rubbing problem will be on the back of the front fender. You don't know how wide your wheels are, you ask for help but don't give us enough to work with. I would imagine since they were for the 285s originally they are probably 8 inch wide. You will rub less with 8 inch wheels than 10s. To make these 10s fit I hacked almost 2 inchs out of the back of the wheelwell. I'll post pictures once I take some.. It doesn't look bad, most of it is covered by the fender liner. Most guys wouldn't want to do that I bet. If you have an 8 inch wheel you will be better off. It won't stick out as much when turning. If you won't mind some mild rubbing then you might be ok as you are. See if they will put the front 2 on and set it on the ground and turn it, then drive over a block turned and see if it rubs hard...

will hight really matter? or just width. cause if i get 315/80's then it will be 1 inch taller than the 315/75's

Width will matter more, because when you turn the wider it is the farther out it sticks and the closer it gets to the fender. There was a guy with his tbs cranked on here running 315s on stock wheels no problem.. But when your wheels sticks out more then when you turn it gets closer to the fender too.

Running a tire that big I would be most concerned about getting a rim wide enough for it!! If the rim is too narrow the tire tread will be rounded and you will wear out the centers in no time no matter how much you decrease the pressure. With rims....the wider you go the more you have to watch the backspacing. If your backspacing is too far off you will rub the inner fenders and possibly torsion bars with wider/taller tires. In my case I wanted 20" wheels with 34" tires....fit great till I tried to turn. They rubbed everywhere!!! And I did not want to hack up a new truck. The farther out the rim sticks from the factory, the more likely a taller tire (and wider) is going to rub. Having the aftermarket bumper will help on one end, but the back side of the fender would be my concern. If you do order them, have the shop mount only one tire/rim and try it first.... Hopefully they will be as considerate as the dealer I had and return and order something that fits without saying anything.
