'05 D/A Straight piped, Juice w/Attitude level 3, level 5 low boost fueling... after approximately 9 miles of normal driving, I accelerated out of a corner 40-50 mph and the pick-up began to surge, short little surges. I slowed down and accelerated again, it did the same thing. I slowed down and accelerated from 10 mph and when I stepped on the pedal, it fell flat on it's face. I pulled in to where I was going, shut it off, came out 10 min. later, checked for codes, there were none and all has been fine since. I have driven the same route under the same conditions and haven't had a hint of trouble. ANY IDEAS????
You need to send in your juice, not the attitude monitor, and get it updated to v1.2. It fixes the problem. Call up edge, they will explain what to write on the box. They will even send you a shipping label if you want to wait for it.

Sounds like fuel starvation of the CP3 pump. When was your fuel filter changed last?

My Edge was updated a few months ago...
No, I have not checked my fuel filter...
I have almost 12000 miles on the truck and have not changed the fuel filter... at what interval should it be changed?
I for got to add:eek: ....check your fuel filter):h

If you are using the stock fuel filter only I'd change it at least every 10K miles. Change it and then I'd change it again at 5K miles and cut it open to see how dirty it is. If there is still at least 50% of light colored filter media left you can probably go to 8K to 10K miles. How dirty they get also depends on how clean the fuel is you are putting in the tank. Try to use a station that gets a lot of diesel traffic so they have a high turn over rate on their fuel. I was getting bursting at just under 10K and it got worse as I got to 10K on my filters. I changed both the Nicktane and OEM and no more bursting or falling flat on it's face and that's with the Juice on level 5/5.

All that is good info, but to me it sounds like you hit engine limp mode. The ECM sees things it doesn't like, usually abrupt pressure changes caused by quickly jumping in and out of the throttle, it then enforces engine limp mode which restricts you to 2000 rpm max.
That part about "accelerated out of a corner" was key, you probably let off for the corner then jumped on it for the corner exit.
No codes get set, just kill the truck, leave the key off for about 15 seconds, and all is good again. You can either pull over and kill it or wait for the next red light.

mark2257, are you still having this problem or has it been fixed? I experienced similar problem and found a wire harnes worn through causing a short. See my thread Engine surge.
