Hey guys, I just got around to hooking up my egt gauge and just driving around town unloaded Im averaging between 800 and 1000 degrees. Is this normal temp? I put the probe in the passenger side exhaust manifold where it seems everybody does. Thanks.

um well tht sounds about right when ur in the throttle but just cruising prob around 650 to 800 with light throttle

high if your just putting around if you are pushing it light to light its ok

1300 degrees is where i shut it down. anything below that is fine but i dont like it to run hotter than that. with a hot tune that can be a challenge.

puttin around town seeing 8-10 is a bit high in my opinion.. but that also depends on your driving habits. like guys have said above.. 650-800 on AVERAGE is about right.

im curious to know what you'd run towing... or what members on this site would think "safe" is on a dmax

I never paid attention to egts around town. In the country or on an Interstate running empty I try to keep egt's around speed x 10. 60mph = 600 degrees 70=700 degrees. I get the best fuel economy when I can do this. It gets harder to due with a race tune but still can be done. With my race tune I see between 1000 and 1100 during normal acceleration and then drops off to speed x10 type temperatures.

With Predator running the 40 HP Tow tune, I get 500 - 600 putting around and 800 - 900 accelerating.....

predator on 65 i can get to 1200 easily, with boost @ about 25

commuting....on uneven ground anywhere from 600 to 1k

A bone stock dmax will run around 1400 deg. under full load.

I'm with the average 650to 800 around town cruising , getting into it a little 800-900 . Your fine .

from 20 mph to 80 I get to 1175 ppe level 3

Its in the manifold, but I drive with a pretty light foot. I never go WOT in the higher gears and hold it there for more than a couple seconds cause i'm worried about my stock trans with 180k on it...

i have the egde juice w/ attitude on mine and when i punch it it gets up to around 1200-1300 depending on how long im in it and just cruising its about 650-750

Predator on 40. Running 75mph on cruise control 700 degrees.

Generally in town about 650-800 and thats under 40mph..
