: brake controller mounting?

Hi there, I just picked up an 05 CC 2500, and I have to pull the brake controller out of my old Powerstroke and mount it in the new one. I'm curious where you guys are mounting them? I can easily put it in pretty much the same location as my old truck, but I want to make sure that since the truck is brand new that the install is clean, don't want to mess up the dash more than I have to...

Anyone?

Thanks

I mounted mine on the panel just above my right knee. I wanted it in a place where I can easily reach should I need to use the manual control.

You can either use sticky back velcro or drill holes and screw in the mount.

mounted mine on the strip of metal that runs along the bottom of the dash, even had convenient holes there that lined up. it is centered so I can see everything and get to it easily as well.

i did not want to drill holes in the plastic, to each their own.

Did the same as ski - right uner the steering wheel is the best spot - hole is already there - no drilling into anything.

Normally mount them on that metal strip above the gas pedal.

I Mounted mine in the little hole beside the ashtray of the GMC. Puts it within reach which is real important sometimes.

I have bucket seats with the center console. I mounted my Prodigy on the far left side of the bottom storage pocket in the center console. I can sit in my normal driving position and reach over to adjust the brakes or apply them in a panic.

I used the 2 holes available in the center, right below the steering wheel as mentioned above. Too conveinent not to use.

thanks guys, I saw that and was wondering if it'd line up. I don't want to drill holes in the plastic either:)

Same as Ski's, just more to the left and out of the way. I do have to lean a little to reach it.

thanks, thats right where I put it. I was concerned about it being in the way of my feet, but its a prefect spot, no new holes and within easy reach.

thanks for the help:)

put mine on the same metal strip, but right next to the brake release

sheesh, I tried to talk the wife into letting me put it in the lower cubby hole in the center console -- easy to get to and fit right in. But, NoOhooo... So then I show her the middle spot under the dash centered on the steering wheel (with holes already there!!). Nope, Nope, nope, so it's to the far right over the gas pedal, bolted to the metal strip.

I think I made my point when we were setting the power setting on the controller for the horse trailer -- it's very hard to reach where it is. I still like the console spot the best...

Then there's the story of how I dropped the 40A fuse in the power center under the hood and how it just rattled down to some unknown spot, only took me half an hour to get it back out!! :p:

Dealer installed our Prodigy right under the center cubby. A little reah but out or the way and real clean.
