I have been looking for a replacement motor for my truck, today I bought one. I have been having a hard time with the thought of putting in a used motor that I do not know the history of and expecting it to be reliable for years to come. So today I looked at one about an hour from my house that came out of a 1984 suburban. The guy is being forced to move within the month so he was scrapping the burb that he bought for the motor and the turbo kit. Thats where I come in... couldnt start the motor since the starter was shot, but ended up giving him $75 for the complete motor (minus a couple of accessories... alt, p/s pump) and he also threw in the guages/bessel for the pyrometer/boost/tach. going back in the AM to pull the motor and grab the pyro probe. Thinking that i'll pull the heads, get them machined/valve job, and do a minor over haul on the motor and give it a whirl. hope i didnt wate $75 :)

Hmmm $75 I think I spent that on a bottle of scotch for my wedding. That wasn't a waste.
Probably didn't last as long as that motor will. At least I hope not for your sake

i hear that...
he was asking much more than $75, but since the starter was shot and we couldnt even try to start it he sold it to me for the price of the metal. for piece of mind that if it didnt start he didnt want to feel bad so he threw in the guages.
pretty solid dude.
for $75 the guages were worth it alone.

cant be worse than my last motor... hole in the piston and a cracked piston. If it is... i'll Scrap it!

the best deal we had for a motor was $20.00, complete motor with ip, the guy only wanted $10.00 but we had no change....( it turned out to be the 660 black, crack block):D
it still had many good parts so we are reassembling it for a spare...
you got a good deal for the motor, and great deal for the gauges...:D

He is also selling the banks kit, he was asking $600. Had everything minus the muffler and obviously the guage :D
