Has anyone had any experience with replacing a 1500 series pcm with 2500 series pcm? I have a constant P0401 egr insufficient flow ses code that no one seems able to fix. I'm tired of throwing $$$ at it. A member states he has solved the problem in the above mentioned fashion in his 98. I'm driving a 97.
all thoughts welcome
thanks
alex

Yes, once you install a ECM with a 6.5L F engine flash, the ecm won't look for the egr solenoids or the MAF and you can most likely disconnect them.
You might buy one from a junk yard or possibly have your's reflashed to an F engine program.
