I have some water leakage issues with my truck currently, so decided since I have to pull the waterpump out to regasket everything/ new hoses i might as well do the HO water pump upgrade. Now before any of you ask or assume that its something else ie head gasket and whatnot... I can visually see water dripping under my truck when I shut it off. Now here is my question.... I bought a reman waterpump from autozone for a 98 2500 turbo diesel and the waterpump looks right. Just it doesnt have the HO stamped into it. Here is the part # DWP-9021. Did the search on here for the part number in the part number index and came up with (from Napa) 44042, but it doesnt specify what year and so on. So any help with part numbers would be appreciated. Also is there a year of pump that is better than others?? Thanks in advance

What I would do is go to RockAuto.com and see their Delco part no.
I am not sure if we know the AZ part no.
There are a few version of HO, 98 part no should be HO.
I don't think that HO should be stamped in there. It is HO relative to the one they used in 95 model.

I bought the all new bosch HO pump from rock auto. $60 something. It has HO cast into the front as does the original one on my 97. I'd be leary if it doesn't have HO cast in it.

The impeller size is different from the HO to the regular one, also.

The last few water pumps I have purchased were new not reman and by a different supplier than usual. The castings had no HO cast in the housing, but the impeller size was correct for the HO pump, it measures 4&1/4" in diameter IIRC. The standard impeller is just around 4"" in dia.

by impellar you mean the disc inside the water pump that actually moves the water correct? Just want to make sure... well I ended up turning that one back into AZ, not real big on the duralast stuff.

Exactly, good move on the auto zone return, you could try NAPA.

Or a takeoff from Peninsular diesel. That's where I got mine (with an attached timing cover) . $65 iirc.

thanks for all the input.... I actually took one back to carquest also... the reman claimed it was for a 98 yet the impellar size was the same for my 93 (it was only 4" so it wasnt the HO)... so I just went ahead and regasketed everything, and will order one from rock auto...

That is an excellent idea and price also, the water pump/timing covers are around $90-$100 without the pump!!!
