I have the Autometer gauges on my "A" pillar. Normally when I shut off my truck, they both (pyrometer and boost) go to "zero". Lately, my pyrometer gauge has been going to about 1400 degrees when I shut off the key. It seems to work perfectly with the truck running and reading correctly.

Has anyone else noticed this problem? It might not be a big deal as long as its accurate while the engine is running but its those little "quirks" that bother me the most.

Should I be worried about the accuracy of the gauge?

Thanks in advance.

Rcher,

It's OK, the Auto Meter pyros are "powered" by the trucks electrical system and will return to normal once power is restored etc.

Thanks guys, I'll not worry about it then. Its the little things that malfunction with no explanation that bother me the most. As long as its accurate when I need it, thats what matters.

Thanks for you quick response!

My Autometer gage seems to stick while I 'm driving, if I tap it sometimes it will drop 150 degrees. It does seem to be getting better. Will post a picture soon where I installed the EGT, have not seen one in MY location yet.

ssgreg,

Loosen the clamp mount you have it installed in, I have seen 3,4,5 inch race tachs stick if the clamp is too tight before.

Loosened the clamp, still sticks. Oh well it's not the end of the world.

ssgreg,

They have a 1 year warranty, if you're under that you can get a replacement.

I was going to send it back then I remembered that I cut off the mounting studs a little with a Dremel tool and figured that might void the warranty even though it shouldn't. Didn't want to go through the hassel of removing it for no reason. Thanks for the reply, Greg
