well i finally got around to making one. Thanks to heartbeatcanada for sending me pics of his :).

for those who run a weight bar- do you just fasten all the weights together, or do you also attach them to the bracket via sideplate, etc?

On the tractors there is a little protruding part in the middle, you slide them on from both sides and bolt them together. Then they can't move. Since you are using red weights instead of real ones (read:green) they are a little different. I would put a plate in the middle with a hole that lines up with the hole in them and then put them on from both sides and bolt them to that. You never know when you might bounce or something and lose them otherwise...

Yours looks pretty good, but I would add that plate in the middle.

I was thinking about putting some recievers on for use with weight brackets and because I would rather pin a strap in than break tow hooks off.

thanks for the idea. that plate in the center sounds like a good idea. i didn't hang them on the hooks. they actually slide into the frame where to tow hook originally went. and don't blame me for orange, my buddy owns a ditch witch dealership :)

Nick , u may want to put an angle behind the strap in front to reinforce it.

If u put a lot of weight on it, u don't want it to bend.

Tomac has well over 1000# on his.

Also u may want to keep the weight toward the left side to make up for the engine torque.

Most places if u drop anything your DQ'd

I agree, i have small gussets in my corners to help with that(i think it shows in the pics i sent  ) You don't want it to break or a weight to fall off as its a dq. I seen a weight bracket break this weekend as the truck was about done, but none the less she still broke and it didn't look to be a crappy build, though the truck seems to bounce a bit from what i've seen.

Jeremy i do remember your braces.. i should have said that i wasn't quite finished. its only taked now as my little welder doesn't get quite hot enough so i have to take it to a buddy's to have him finish it. i was going to have him put gussets around it just in case. i ended up using 3x3 3/16 square tube instead of 3x4 as it fits through the OEM airdam..

I knew you didn't hang them off the hooks, I meant I wanted to do like you did and replace the hooks with recievers because when you get stuck mudding it's safer to pin a strap in a reciever than on a hook. I've had hooks on other trucks broken off pulling out of the mud... I want to either mount recievers where my towhooks are or build a bumper that has a center reciever..
