I was looking at a 2001 Chevy 2500 HD ext cab long bed yesterday at a dealer. It appears to be in good shape, but has 170K miles on it. I think I can get it for about $10K. They said they did some engine work and it should be overhauled back to the factory condition. Would this be a good deal? I think that 170K miles is a lot, and I am worried about getting nickel and dimed to death on this truck?

So they are telling you that they worked on the engine but it needed to be over hauled back to OEM spec? Or are they saying they put everything back to OEM spec? Depending on what they said I would be cautious.

It had some engine trouble when they took it on trade, and they repaired it back to factory specs...
