MORAINE — Starting next week, workers will return to the DMAX plant to start producing the next-generation Duramax truck engine . . . By early May, the 584,000-square-foot plant should be fully staffed after next week’s startup and a training period . . .

Im curious to see how outragously over priced the 2011's are. I'm gonna bet we see the first $70,000 Duramax!!:eek:

My 2006 was $72,000.00 out the door so it will not be a first .

Actualy I think our dollar was stronger then so it likely ninetythousand US ,also I recall a fellow saying he purchased his from the USA and saved him eightteen thousand dollars . They saying our dollar going to be higher all this year , how much I do not know .

Yeah, Ford's really thrown it down with the new 6.7 Powerstroke. I drove one at the local Ford dealer the other day at a launch even the other day.

I like my Chev but I've always been partial to a solid front axle on a HD truck.

I agree somethin about a solid front axle just makes truck feel like a truck. I think they should make a solid front axle available in a 3/4 ton hd and 3500 standard. I think they would sell more trucks this way.

If the Ford had the Dmax Allison I would buy it today. So much of a nicer and well buitl truck than the Chevy, period.

This thread is starting to go all over the place, so I'll add that if Dodge had Dmax/Allison, it would be the truck for luxury / hauling. Heated/cooled everything, ice chests in the rear floor boards, reclining back seats. Talk about having your cake and eating it too!

But, it's STILL a Dodge.

Ive own both a Ford and a GM now. Owned a Dodge and never again. The Ford is really a good truck.
