I'm looking for nothing more than a 4" kit for my '02. Max tire size of 33 is all I wanna fit. So far I am leaning towards the cognito stuff. Just wondering about some feedback on that kit or any others. Also, would like to see some pics of my body style with a 4".

I'm going with the 4'' Tuff Country. For the price difference...spend it on rods, support kit etc and its same as the Cognito alone without all the front end goodies imo. And the Tuff Country kit has been proven to be stong...alot of users on here use it in tractor pull and drag racing that I have seen.

I was brainwashed on cognito as well. And in the same boat as you but I'll be doing 1.5" blocks in rear and cognito UCA's in front. They will fit for sure just tight. I don't like the look of a jacked up truck with little tires so. If I have to do some cutting, that I will.

Heard real good things about the Rancho lift kit as well.

I guess it does matter what you do with it. I plow, tow, and load it with bikes and stuff a lot and deff didnt miss the last ford I had w/ 6" lift.

I would love to do a 4" lift now but I don't know. I am worried about the plow. It's very minimum plowing. Not commercial stuff. 8' fisher stainsless x-blade. Not real heavy. Concerned about being able t drive around in 4x4 in winter too.

save yourself the time and head right for a 6". Been through that 4" thought before and hated the look from the second I pulled it out of the shop. I had a 4" lift with 33's.....nope, looked like a roller skate. I had the Cognito 4-6 lift, I took the 33's right off and exchaged them for 35's and set the lift to about 5.5" and things looked a lot better, never exactly what i wanted but it was better. The Cognito lift I had was nice but I never really liked how the tires stuck out, it was better after I lifted it more but there was just something about it that never made me feel right. On the other hand, go for 6, on a chevy, IMO 4" doesn't look the best. Good Luck.

I'm not sure how the plow attaches to the truck but if it doesn't interfer with the kit I wouldn't worry about plowing. I think it would be better then running it with your torsions cranked. I put a lot of miles on this winter running in 4x4 and didn't have one problem. the lift keeps all your ball joints and cv angles same as factory.

i also started with a 4 inch and 33s and just like HDLBZ said the minute a saw it i was dispionted. i have now raised it another inch and have 35s that i hope i can run with out rubbing to bad. if i were to do it again i wouldnt even consider a 4 inch even if it was free. do at least a 6.

The plow will be fine out of the way. My concern is just picking it up and droping it a millin times. Its a good 800lbs or so im sure. I know its not a lot for the front end but as far as that weight driving in 4x4, pushing snow and hitting snow banks. I would rather the lift for more ground clearence. Truck body took a real abusing this winter. I figure the CV's and all are better than anything else, however the lift doesn't add tension, were turning my keys helps when the plow is on from sagging. So I would even crank them a tad in winter just for the plow. Just wonder how all the bushings, that drop down piece and the front diff would work at that angl down.

I think im just doin 33's under the truck and trimming all I have to. Cognito kit as well

I do like the Cognito kits and recommend them over everything else. Tuff Country does make a good kit but I like the ability to customize the Cognito kits to your personal needs. i.e. rear lift options, shock options, etc. Plus cognito includes the idler arm and pitman arm braces with all their kits. I carry Cognito products as well as many others. Let me know if I can help or if you have any questions for me.

After reading everything I think I have about talked myself into the Cognito leveling kit for now. My use is going to be just for looks and ride quality. What I'm trying to achieve is a wide "beefy" stance.
