I just traded in my 6.0 ford for a duramax. Questions are

1. where do you run wiring into the cab. the 6.0 had a plug in the engine compartment, so I could run my CB and ham radio wires thru with out drilling holes?
2. For installing gages where do you wire the lights in at, so they come on with the head lights?

TIA. Jerry

Where do you plan on installing your antennae? I ran my RG-58 under the plastic panels next to the drivers side door, then out through the vent at the rear of the cab to the ball mounts I had installed on my camper shell. For power I just took off of a good 12v constant source in the power distribution block in the dashes fuse panel.

I borrowed this trick from my buddy.
I ran the antenna wire for my XM receiver up the A-pillar, across the headliner, to the third break light, and out to the roof. The third break light comes out with a couple of screws and gives you access right into the cab. A slick mount would be to put the CB inside of the overhead console, use the map lights for power, and run the antenna wire over head and out.
I realize cable for a CB is much bigger than that dinky satellite receiver antenna, but by drilling a small hole and using some silicone you could mount the antenna and not have anyone be able to see the wire at all. Just an idea.

Only problem is the map lights would NOT supply enough current for transmitting. I have 10ga marine cable (roughly equivalent to 8ga non-marine) coming off my batery, with a 60amp curcuit breaker under the hood, two 50 amp fuses at the distribution block under the back seat, and then a 30 amp fuse on the power line to my ham radio (50W transmit 2m, 35W transmit 70cm) and a 5 amp fuse going to my scanner.
