reprogrammed ecm is the only way to get more fuel

smoke is a bad thing, it causes meltdown from high egt's, if you want smoke then disconnect the vacuum line to the waste gate

The Holset you have on there is just able to utilize your complete fuel charge....... more fuel or less boost will give you smoke, which is unburnt fuel, and soot on your truck, and.......$$$$$$$ for a little show.LOL

You can do the "Feed The Beast" mod. Search it here or in the truckstop forum.

I know it will give a little bit more fuel to the IP by enlarging the supply line.

I am not sure if it will give you more black smoke but you know that black smoke means unhealthy engine.

to much fuel not enough air=black smoke. its your truck, if you want it to black smoke then go for it. but the wise thing would be to instal gauges so you won't blow her up. get a reprogrammed ecm, and turn down the boost. it should smoke then. and get an exhaust, that way the muffler won't catch all the smoke

I'm confused why so many people are looking for their trucks to smoke. I must be missing something. Is it cool to have your truck smoke?

some like to show off and make it smoke, some like to show off with a loud turbo, some have their own way of showing off. thats about all it is, just for showing off

My truck was dumping loads of smoke unintentionally due to a malfunctioning wastegate selonoid and I too do not understand why people want to dump smoke.

It is pretty embarrassing driving up a hill and you can't even see the people behind you..... Can only imagine what the ministry of environment would have to say about that

Optic bump and a #9 resistor would bump up the stock setting.

well i have the sreaming turbo it can be heard very easily even at idle i have straight exhaust now i want to put 6" stacks on it with 4" pipe to feed them.it would look cool for a lil bit of smoke to flow from the stacks. im thinking that the guy i bought the truck from did not have the emc remapped becuase it seems that the bigger injectors i put in there are just not getting enough fuel but i dont know.....

imo. i think its awsome when you punch the pedal and diesel smoke roars out of the stacks... just like they should... like i said IMO. i would love to get a little more smoke in mine but dont feel like replacing the motor either.... i get enough as it is because i think my turbo has some major lag below 2000 rpm......... always loading up but at 2grand smoke comes out and it clears up....... send me a pic of the holset on your rig. im wanting to do it.......

Take off in 3rd gear and put your foot to the floor. That will get the coal rolling :D. Look at my mods below. Been that way for 30,000 miles and the thing still runs like a CHARM and I still get 20mpg so anybody telling you it is bad for your truck, I laugh at them. Now if I tried to get my EGTs to 1200 degrees and left them there, yeah, that WOULD be bad. I can honestly tell you though that it is quite hard for me to even get mine up to 1200 degrees. Never even had them up that high. My truck will redline the rpm before that happens.

ok what would happen if i turned my pump up a little??

only turn it up 1/4 of a turn clockwise, and thats if you have perf wastegate and 4in exhaust and all the guages. If not youll melt your pistons in a hurry. Supposdly with everything and the pump turned up youll recieve 85-100 extra hp With the Exhaust and Wastegate. So if your engine is in good condition you could expect 250-300HP BHP that is

yu'll need a Exhaust Temp Gauge puts probe in the rt ehx manifold, to monitor the temps,, too high, and you'll be exhausting aluminium parts

Well with your newer rig, you won't be able to turn up the pump what so ever because it is electronically controlled.
