Well I will be heading out the door for 6 months and the wife does not drive my truck at all. What should I do to prep it? It will be in the garage out of the sun. Should I purge the fuel out of the lines and keep the tank low so the fuel does not go south? Or should I just have her go out and pull it outside and run it for a few minutes every other week? Thanks for the inputs

Diesel usually lasts quite a bit longer than gas, so 6 months should not be a problem. I'd hook a trickle-charger on the batteries, just to keep them in good condition.

i would put some type of conditioner in the fuel and X2 on the trickle charger.
Diesel lasts along longer then gas it hardly goes stale you just have to worry about biotic growth in the diesel (i.e.. algae) but thats a rare case you should be fine though

I had to put my truck up many times, up to 6 months without driving it due being in the Navy and going on 2 deployments and various other times due to my job. I just made sure it had some fuel additive in it and good batteries. Truck never failed to start up and runs fine. Just turned 100k. I was worried about the batteries and tires sitting in one spot for 6 months. Trickle charger is a good idea and as long as it is not sitting for a winter in someplace like Minnesota or North Dakota , I would not worry about the tires. I left mine "stored" in South Carolina with a Tarp over it. Wish I had a garage like you.

Be careful with the trickle chargers. The cheap ones will fry your batteries.
I would just fill the tank full, add a double dose of fuel treatment and a biocide to keep the funk from growing in the tank. Air the tires up, change the oil and go. It will be fine.

I may just disconnect the batteries all together to reduce the parasitc draw and save the life left in my optimas. Anyways thanks for the input i will more than likely do all of the above.
