4" for efficiency, 5" for vanity. The aluminized systems are the cheapest and probably fine for California. If you're going to go to the trouble, though, a stainless systems seems the way to go. Lots of opinions here on which is best.

I currently have 4" exhaust on my 2004 & having trouble with resonating sound
at 1500 to 2,000 rpm's. It's a deafoning roar that really gets on my nerves. I
called Corsa Exhaust Systems & they give me allot of good info., they warranty
their exhausts systems for the life of the vehicle with no resonating & say they
are quieter than stock exhaust, so I ordered the turbo back system, will let ya'll
know the results when we get it installed. They are expensive!

I was looking at the proflow / flopro turbo back system for $260. do you think it's a good exhaust?

I installed a 5" aluminized on my 2001 and don't have any problem with the noise in the cab(windows up) It is a little louder but I like the deeper sound. It has made a difference in performance and I usally average 19.5 to 21.5 mpg empty even going to Klamath Falls Oregon from Oroville Ca. and back.
And Hey! if it's vanity then I'm glad I'm vain.

I feel a movement of this thread comming on...;)
But anyways, My MBRP 4" 409 stainless wasn't that much and was well worth the money. Just don't go too cheap. my friend put a 3" pipe where the stock muffler was. It sounds like SCensored That might be just because of the size of the pipe and the Tip tho

Well I just installed my 4" exhaust turbo back with a 5" chrome tip.
and wow it sounds great. and the milleage that shows up is about 20-23 on the freeway.
I'm thinking of going straight pipe without the muffler to make it a little louder.
what do you guys think?
Where can I get a 4" straightpipe?
