How many and who has used an ACTRON cp9145 scanner? It does OBDI and OBDII plus some other live data and snapshots. I Own 5 different GM cars that this will work on but was wondering if it work and how well with the 6.5 trucks?

i own the model just below it. they'r nothign special.. not really a scaner just pulls and deletes codes.. i wouldnt spend the extra money for the 9145.. as its OBD 1 function is parralleled by a paper clip.. als the super cheap one the 9125 i think it is does pretty much everythign the 9135 short of displayign the codes name on the handheld (you still have to look it up)

so honest opinion.. they're decent they work they do their job.. but 9145 not worth it.. 9135 $150 maybe.. 9125 $70 yeah why not..

I believe the 9145 has a live data and a snap shot feature. From reading the info I found it sounds like it gives more than just the codes, Thats what I am trying to avoid is just a code reader cause my OBDI caprice can not be read with those.
Thanks for the inputs

Have you tried an OTC ? there are lots of these around and fairly cheap as well (couple hundres dollars) I sold my old one to a friend of mine and if I recall correctly it would do what your looking for in a scanner. Funny thing my old OTC would allow me to test (kill) each injector on a 96 6.5 and my Snap on will not do this same test on my 98.....

Do you remember what model number the OTC was?

It was a OTC 4000E. My old one was good up to 96. It could do generic OBD II as well. It used various Pathfinder carterages, mine was only good for domestic, as I did not have the import package.Hope this helps

Hey Bowtie, if you have a laptop or a desktop you can easily move, take a look at Freescan, available at: http://www.andywhittaker.com/ecu/ecu_software.htm. I use it for my LT1's in my S10 and Camaro, and it works well. The best thing is the cost-free, unless you want to make a donation to Andy.

I have that program and the cables for my LT1 but was looking for something to use with my OBDII's and my 6.5.
