Hey Guys,

I removed my 4x4 decals as I am getting ready to install a set of bushwhacker flares and I don't like the looks of the flare covering up half the decal.

Anyways, I peeled off the decals and then used goo-gone to get rid of the residue. The problem is that now when the truck gets dusty, you can see the decal magically re-appear.

What do I have to do to get of the dust accumulating property that the 'once covered' spots on the bed now have?

I am sure that all of the residue is gone....does it just need a good waxing?

Thanks!

a little fine rubbing compund goes a long ways, i have some that is a fine conpound and wax all in one, if you know what you are doing there is all sorts of ways, you could go as far as wet sanding and so on but try rubbing compound first, hopefully others will chime in on anything else that worked for them

I would clay bar it. It's the best when cleaning your paint.

A good polish or wax will work since you have a new'ish truck. Some older trucks, youd prolly have to use some light compound.

I used some WD-40 with some elbow grease, That removed all traces of adhesive then some clay bar then a good coat of wax and have never had a problem since.

Its the leftover glue residue thats collecting the dust on ya. A soft microfiber towel...some wax/silicone remover (prep-sol or pre-cleano) wax after and you wont see it again. A claybar alone wont remove the residue.

This. I had the same thing when I took off my badges, even after I hand-polished and waxed. Give it a little time and it will stop doing it.
