Does any one know how to tell if you have one of franks IP pump or not.

I got a truck and the guy said he put one of his Franks IP pumps in. The truck is still having troubles and i want to make sure its not the pump.

Thanks, Dave

What is Franks IP?

At any rate, you have to check the Lift Pump (LP) and Oil Pressure Sender (OPS) that supply the electric to the LP.
Read the FAQ labeled "New Member Read"!!!! on how to test the LP and OPS.

Thanks jmj, i did read that thread as soon as i started reading this site. and sorry it's not frank it's Walt he runs SS Diesel.

I use to read that site but when i changed my e-mail address in the preferences panel it kicked me out. I emailed whom ever runs the site but haven't heard back from them (its been like a month).

I just wanted a way to find out if the guy i got the truck from actually put in an ip pump from walt, he did install a pmd re-locator though.

You will not get an answer fast. I heard that site is not monitored and not many members.

You can try to see if the PO can provide you with a receipt. Or look at the label on the IP, unfortunately, it is facing backward. See if there is any hint.

As far as PMD, make sure it is NOT on the intake. If it is, get an extension cable and put it outside the engine hood. You can reuse the PMD on Heatsink if the PMD is still good. Remote on intake is NOT remote enough. That is like a neighbor but unfortunately, it is the worst location, even worst than the IP location.

Oh ya, for the white smoke, do the Diagnostic.
